It's definitely looking more & more as though the plan for P.K. wasn't in the Habs game plan. Now that the dust has settled I believe both Weber and Subban will do well with their respective new teams. Weber now playing in the East should extend his career and P.K. Will have the 'green light' to play the way he wants. Good luck to both and Go Habs Go.

I didn't get into it too much in my article, but I wonder just how much the players actually enjoy playing for Therrien and whether they 100% agree that his system is the right one based on this roster...

I agree with you- hopefully the dust settles, though once the season kicks in, this debate will re-emerge as soon as both players start this chapter of their careers...

I interpreted that very differently than you did.

I don't know that what Carey said was a "vote-of-confidence" for Therrien and his system so much as it is a criticism in that it cost them a tremendously skilled player.

Excellent point, I'm not a big Therrien fan. I never was but we're stuck with him for now as Bergevin is saving face in giving him a vote of confidence.

This is what I was thinking as well. Price put it very diplomatically but it was clear (at least to the Therrien hater in me) that there isn't a lot of support for the coach.

PK is a great puck mover, but on most occasions his teammates were stuck at the blueline waiting for him.

As for Price, I feel like some people interpret his words to fit their agenda. Whether it's pro or anti PK, I really doubt that Price himself intended anything further than what was said.

Certainly. And my intention was not to say that Price believes PK sucks- he made it abundantly clear that he's had success because of his dynamic and risk-taking style.

However, it looks like Price prefers Weber. If the goalie says he prefers a particular defenseman over another in specific situations, that should tell us all we need to know.

I disagree, while a goalie is an important part of a hockey team, very important in the case of Price and the habs, we should not take his opinion as gospel. Of course, the goalie will push for the more defensively reliable guy, but that certainly doesn't help the main weakness of the team which is offense IMO. I think we should use the fact that we have arguably the best goaltender in the world, to have a team that take more risks offensively.

Canada, because I'm always behind Canada in these things.

But yeah, Galchenyuk should be with the U23s.

Doing a draft for my fantasy team at 10 pm by the way.

Subban's 9 mill probably caused more poop than they would like to admit...no doubt Pacioretty's 4.5 was hard to digest comparatively.
